John Herman Jackson

John Herman Jackson Arden – John Herman Jackson, 74, of Arden, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late James and Connie Jenkins Jackson. He was also preceded in death by a son, John “Dewey” Jackson, who died in 1987. John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia “Pat” Gasperson Jackson; one daughter, Donna Garren and her husband, Bobby, of Arden; two sisters, Connie Gasperson of Arden and Lillian Taylor of Hendersonville; three brothers, Harry Jackson of Arden, Roy Jackson of Arden and Doc Jackson of Alexander; one grandson, John Garren of Arden; one great-grandchild, Chesney Garren as well as several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Cecil Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
