John Curtis Gossett, 79, of 3 Fieldcrest Circle, Asheville, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in a local nursing home.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late John M. and Lula Rogers Gossett. He was retired from the NC Highway Department where he worked as an engineer and was a member of Deaverview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cole Gossett; one son, John W. Gossett and his wife Elaine of Leicester; two grandchildren, Tanya Ball and her husband Ronnie and John W. Gossett, Jr., all of Leicester; two sisters, Wilma Wilson and Reva Wilson, both of Enka.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Earl Moseley officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
