John Anthony McDade

John Anthony McDade, 42, of 86 Vermont Avenue, Asheville, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at his home. Mr. McDade was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late W.A. and Barbara Ball McDade. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Barry and Billy McDade. He was a former auto mechanic and former secretary of a brothers club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and collecting a variety of items. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are one sister, Trisha Davis and her husband Joey of Asheville; his twin brother Thomas A. McDade and his wife Betty Ann of Spartanburg, SC; and two nephews T.J. McDade and Matthew McDade. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating. His family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to the family at 86 Vermont Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806, to help with medical expenses.

  5. I knew John and have many memories of him. I knew that John’s body was in pain much of the time. Of course I was saddened to hear of John’s death, but then I realized how much better he feels now. No more pain. If we are sad, it is only for ourselves, not John, for we should rejoice that he has gone to meet his heavenly father.
    I pray that God helps you through this troubled time.
