  1. Mickie and family, you have my deepest sympathy. Joe was such a supportive and special friend through the years, whether it was the church, the BSC, or the secretaries’ association. I knew that when talking to Joe, he would make me smile. I treasure the ‘bed steps’ that he made and gave me when I spoke at the Cullom Association. May God hold you in the palm of His hand. Love, Kay Abbott Bissette, Raleigh/Henderson

  2. I am so sorry to have read of your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. Something that I have personally found to be of great comfort is what the Bible says at John 5:28, 29 as well as Revelation 21:4. These verses show us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering including sickness and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my sincere hope that these thoughts comfort your family as well. Again I am so sorry for your loss.

  3. You were so kind and wonderful to us. Many men refused to marry us.. You stepped up. Adam and I will be married 13 years this Thursday. You tied our knot very tight.. We have tried to untie it but it wouldn’t budge ha ha. Whenever I needed a boost of faith in our religious leaders I would just think of you. If you existed and believed so much in love and grace, then there had to be others that believed like you too. I will forever regret not making time to see you this past October when we were in town. I am sorry for that.

    Thank you.

    Keri, Adam and the girls

  4. Mickie, we were saddened to hear of Joe’s passing. Our condolences to you and your family. Joe was a joy to work with and I am thankful for the opportunity to get to know him while he served as DOM for Tennessee River/Cheoah Associations. Our prayers for comfort for your family. Love in Christ, Larry Grindstaff, Pastor, Tuskeegee Baptist Church.

  5. It was an honor to know Dr. Babb. I regard him with the highest respect. I rejoice in his homecoming but saddened to loose a such great man here on earth. May the Lord’s comfort be with the Babb family. Alison McKinney, Biblical Recorder

  6. Mrs. Mickie, we are so saddened to hear of Dr. Joe’s passing for you and those who will miss him. While he is surely in celebration of his graduation from this school of life to his Savior’s presence, he will be sorely missed by all those who God gave him to love. Those who were helped to heal by that love at Turkey Creek will never forget his kind, gentle, loving spirit and how graciously the two of you encouraged and ministered to us all. Our love and prayers continue with you always.
Gary, Lynn and Samantha, the Fox Family

  7. Thinking of your family in this time of grief. One of the last things Joe shared with me was a copy of his little book ‘A History of the Bible.’ Inside was this inscription: ‘To Jeff, one of my ‘sons’ in ministry for our Lord.’ It was an honor to have been one of Joe’s ‘sons’ in the ministry. God bless all of you.

  8. I was saddened to hear of the death of Dr. Joe Babb. He was much loved and respected in the Cullom Baptist Association. He often fellowship ed with us at Kittrell Baptist Church. I was delighted to see him in Asheville when we visited our son. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and church.

Harriet Benton Cooper O, no. I’m so sorry to hear this. Dr. Babb was a member of the Ten Thirty Club along with my Dad and 6 others in Warrenton that shared the same birthday of 10/30. They would all get together on 10/30 at 10:30 am to celebrate….sparking grape juice for Dr. Babb and champagne for the others! I guess Dr. Babb, Popeye Odom and Daddy now can celebrate together again! Prayers for Dr. Babb’s family…..

Please know I’m remembering you in prayer in these days. I have fond memories of our days in Cullom Association and my friendship with Joe and you.
