Jo Ann Morgan Robinson

January 5, 2023
Born in: Candler, NC
Jo Ann Morgan Robinson, our beloved mother, passed away on January 5th, 2023 at the age of 87.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Dave Robinson, who died in 2013; her parents, Cecil and Opal Morgan; sister, Gwynn Cordell; and brother, Ronald Morgan.
She is survived by her son, Derrick Robinson; her daughter, Donna Robinson Mele (Tony); grandchildren, whom she adored, Sam and Lexi; brother, Morris and his wife Jessica; and by her many cousins, nephews, and nieces, whom she loved dearly.
Mom was born and raised on Billy Cove Road in the Beaverdam Community of Candler, NC, where she had lasting memories of her childhood and teenage years.
On May 11th, 1956, after mom and dad vowed to remain together until death parted them, they built a house on Dogwood Drive where they raised our family and blessed us with our childhood memories.
In 1979, they moved to the High Vista Community in Mills River, NC, where they made many new lifelong friends, and where mom made her reputation as a golfer to be reckoned with!
Known for her ever-present smile, her sweet disposition, and her passion for golf, which came second only to her dedication and love for her family, she will be missed; but none more so than by her adoring and grateful children and grandchildren.
Services will be held at Snow Hill United Methodist Church, 84 Snow Hill Church Rd., Candler, NC on Saturday, April 1st, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Snow Hill United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association would be greatly appreciated.

So very beautiful inside and out. Lord God I lift up Derrick and Donna asking that You embrace them in Your sweet Holy Spirit and comfort them and the grandchildren and give to them Your comfort during this time of separation give them Your assurance that they will meet again one glorious day. In Jesus Christ name I pray. Amen.
Remembering Jo Ann and her perpetually positive attitude and infectious smile! Her late husband Dave hired me at Square D just out of the military in 1971, and I always held him in high esteem as my mentor, friend, and role model. That said, I saw a lot of Jo Ann at company functions and always appreciated her friendship and classy demeanor. My condolences go out to Derrick, Donna & family, Morris and Jessica, and all extended family and friends during this difficult time. She will be missed!
