Jennifer Anne Gowen Waugh, 45, of Asheville, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Melbourne, FL, Mrs. Waugh was a daughter of Jacqueline Jordan Riser and John David Riser. She was an ardent Duke fan, and enjoyed gardening. She worked as a dental assistant at Great Beginnings. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Waugh is survived by her husband, Kevin Waugh; son, Kyle Nicholas Waugh; siblings, Coleman Troy Gowen and wife Debra, Shannon D. McMillan and husband Gary, Joshua B. Riser and wife Jennifer, and Megan E. Harris and husband John; mother-in-law Nancy Elizabeth Waugh; nieces, Taylor McMillan, Callie McMillan, Alexis Riser, Kidder Gowen, Kelsey Gowen, Elizabeth Harri (Lee), Laurell Smith (James), Gina Warren (Zach), and Madison Waugh; nephews, Cameron Riser and Dylan Butz; 2 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces; in-laws, Sharon Waugh and Bill McDowall, Steve and Blanche Waugh, and Jeff and Debbie Waugh; and Milo, her long-haired chihuahua. A funeral service for Mrs. Waugh will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave., with Rev. Warren Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Mission Cardiac ICU: Al, Mary, Melissa, Krysti, Cindy, Amanda, Mark, Dr. Todd Hansen, Dr. Kuehl, and especially Dr. Oscar Jenkins.   3. Jennifer, Even tho we had not worked together in 6 years, I still remember your sweet smile and remember great times when we worked together. You took such good care of my children while at Great Beginnings and I will always remember that. I will see you again one day, so be waiting on me at the gates.

Jennifer obviously loved her little dog and administered care to some other injured animals in our neighborhood. Take care and know all is now, okay.
