MSGT E-8 Jefferies D. Allen, Jr. (USAR Ret), 63, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022.

A native of Chattanooga, TN, Jeff was a son of Jefferies D. Allen, Sr. and of the late Gail Allen. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tracy M. Allen.

MSGT Allen proudly served in the U.S. Army. He later worked at the Charles George VA Medical Center for many years in radiology services.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Cynthia A. Chancey Allen; daughter, Alicia M. Allen Khim; son, Eric R. Allen; sister, Jennifer Allen Mills; grandchildren, Ryleigh A. Rockwell, Liam Khim, Anthoney Allen, Gabriella Allen, and Cambelle Khim; and numerous siblings-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. Interment will take place at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain.

  1. It was my honor and pleasure to have worked with Jeff in Imaging at the Charles George VAMC. I am so sorry for his family’s loss. He will be missed by many.

  3. So sorry and shocked to hear about Jeff. He and Cindy have been great neighbors for the past almost 30 years, I just talked to him about 2 weeks ago and he was getting ready to retire.   9. Jeff was a student at Fort Knox and return to Fort Knox, I believe two more times. So sorry for Cindy and his children hearing of his passing. May God comfort his family.
