Jeannetta "Jan" Richardson

Jeannetta "Jan" Richardson Jeannetta "Jan" Annis Richardson, 95, of the Deerfield Retirement Community, died Friday January 29, 2016. Jan was born on October 8, 1920 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Mark Annis and Gladys Orsborne Annis. She graduated from Lasell Junior College with a degree in Fashion Merchandizing. She was an accomplished seamstress and needle woman and managed a pattern service which was interrupted by World War II. With her two sisters, she was the costumer and a teacher at the Annis Sisters Dance Studio in Toledo, Ohio. Jeannetta was a writer, poet and volunteer. She was married to Kenneth Will Richardson, Jr. for over 72 years. They traveled extensively the world over. She leaves a daughter, Gail Austin, and her husband, David; two sons, Kenneth Richardson, and his wife, Conni, and Steven Richardson, and his wife, Mary Ann. No services are scheduled, however, the family graciously asks that In lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jan's memory to the Richardson Trust at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, or the Asheville Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
