Emily Jane Flynn Revis, 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Heather Glen Assisted Living in Arden, NC. She is survived by her husband, Herman McKinley Revis, daughter Dianne Kerr (Marshall), son Matthew Revis (Janet), brother Vernon Flynn, Jr. (Barbara), grandchildren Melanie Willis (Matthew), Kari Fisher (Alex), Lisa Revis, Nate Revis, Alex Revis Scott (Ian), and many other members of a wonderful and loving family. Jane was a long-term resident of Buncombe County, as were her parents Arthur Vernon Flynn (deceased 1972) and Nell Wilson Flynn (deceased 1984). She graduated from Woodfin High School in 1948. After raising her two children, while supporting her husband's military career, she worked as an Administrative Assistant in the healthcare field for many years in Asheville. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Church of the Redeemer in Woodfin, NC, where she met her lifelong companion, Herman. A private burial will occur at a future time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Church of the Redeemer, 1201 Riverside Drive, Asheville, NC, 28804. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
