James Karl Potoczek, 78, of Asheville, NC passed away on December 10, 2024. He was born in Danbury, CT to the late William Joseph Potoczek and Margaret Rose Vitzen Potoczek.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph John Potoczek and sister, Barbara Potoczek.
He dedicated his life to praying for others as a Lay Carmelite.
He will be dearly missed by his family.
The family is planning a Memorial Service in Florida at a later date.

James and I were childhood friends. We met at St. Peter’s School, Danbury, CT, in the fifth grade. We went to high school and college together. I recall when he met his late wife, Betsy. Ray Antonowicz was also a close friend. Condolences to Joey and Barbara. I will remember him at Mass.
