James "Jimmy" Edward Roberts, 77 died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Brian Center in Hendersonville.
Jimmy was born in Buncombe County to the late Clyde and Lillie Dotson Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francis Roberts and a daughter, Deborah Woods.
Jimmy was a veteran of the US Air Force from 1957 to 1964. He retired from the City of Asheville water maintenance division.
He is survived by his children, Johnny Lee Roberts, James Dewey Roberts, Monty Roberts, Marie Brooks, Honey Fierro and Dottie Lunsford.
Jimmy will be interred at the WNC State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.

Dear Roberts family, please accept my deepest sympathies. I am very sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death can leave us with feelings of sorrow and grief. However, Isaiah 25:8 says, ‘He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.’ So not only will Jehovah eliminate death, but he will remove the feeling of pain that comes from losing someone we love, and replace that feeling with comfort and hope. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
