Jackson Dakota Stamey, 28, of Asheville, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at Mission Hospital.
Born August 18, 1995 in Buncombe County, Dakota was a son of Tina Stamey Reyes (husband Matias Reyes) and Jack Duane Watson.
In addition to his parents, Dakota is survived by his girlfriend, Haley Mandrell; baby girl on the way, Harper; his best friend, Levi; and many other friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents Troy and Louise Stamey, and by uncle Jerry Stamey.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue., with funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. Pastors Allen Rash and John Burke will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The service will be live streamed, on the Groce Funeral Home Facebook page or by clicking on the video on the bottom of this obituary.
Family and friends are invited to gather in the fellowship hall at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church following the service.
Dakota’s life will live on through the generous gift of organ donation.
