Herman Arthur Spivey

Herman A. Spivey Fletcher – Herman Arthur Spivey, 88, of Fletcher, died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Kelly and Lela Kilpatrick Spivey. Herman was also preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Gladys House Spivey who died in 1999 as well as a granddaughter, Sabrina Spivey, who died in 2001. He is survived by two sons, James Timothy Spivey and his wife, Lynn, of Fletcher and Rodney Dale Spivey of Fletcher; one sister, Lillian Moore of Fletcher; one brother, Harold Spivey of S.C.; three grandchildren, Crystal, Brittany and Travis Spivey as well as nine great-grandchildren. A funeral service celebrating Herman's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 17 at the Family of Faith Fellowship Church on Long Shoals Road with Reverend James King officiating. Burial will follow at Tweeds Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Monday at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Herman's memory to Family of Faith Fellowship Church. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
