Herbert Doyle Frisbee, 86, died Thursday, September 3, 2015. A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late William and Pearl Corn Frisbee. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Frisbee, and a son Doyle Frisbee. Mr. Frisbee had worked at Cranston Print Works and Town House Bakery and retired from Three Mountaineers Woodcrafting. He was a talented musician, playing the mandolin, guitar, and fiddle, and enjoyed playing gospel music. Mr. Frisbee is survived by his daughter, Iris Melita Frisbee; son, Daniel Lee Frisbee; granddaughters, Amber and Crystal; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Robinson, Mary Alice Deweese, Alda Morris, and Shirley Frisbee; and brothers James and Morris Frisbee. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 at the Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Greg Warren officiating. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  1. Herbert you were a beautiful person, you were a loving man, and a kind soul!! Jill and I will certainly miss you!! I still remember the day you sat down and played your mandolin and guitar for us and sang ‘Anazing Grace’. You were such a great man!! We love you and will always hold a special place in our heart for you!! Your heart touched ours and that was a beautiful friendship we shared!!! I will recall fondly the time you baked us a cake, and we came for coffee and cake!! That was a wonderful act of kindness we don’t see much if anymore in this world!!! I married your step daughter Rachel Bolick, she always spoke highly of you and loved you dearly .It’s very hard for her to deal with a loved one’s passing.I wish that our children could have gotten to know you. I wish that I had gotten to know you too.You are loved and missed by many
