Hattie Stines Rhodes

Hattie Stines Rhodes, 93, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville. Mrs. Rhodes was born in Madison County to the late Marion Elie Stines and Amanda Rector Stines. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Rhodes; her son, William F. Rhodes, III and four brothers and three sisters. Hattie lived in Arden since 1959 and was a member of Avery's Creek United Methodist Church. She was employed with Sears for many years and then she moved on to teach her love of Ceramics. She is survived by her grandson, Dusty William Fredrick Rhodes, IV and his wife, Rachel and their children, Kaydence and Kendall; granddaughter, Kimberly Roland Edlington and her children, J.J. Maney, Tyler Maney and Keri Beth Matthews and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Pastor Frank Ramos officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00 at the funeral home.
