Harold T. ''Dick'' Souther

A native of Henderson County, he was the son of the late James H. and Vista Wheeling Souther and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Wilkie in 1991, two granddaughters and two brothers.

He was a member of Long Shoals Baptist Church, the Men’s Sunday school class and retired in 1981 from CTS as a supervisor.

Mr. Souther is survived by his wife, Ruth Metcalf Souther; two sons, Ron Souther of Arden, Larry D. Souther and his wife Anne of Hendersonville and a sister, Thelma Bishop of Saluda.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Roger Rearden. Interment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mr. Souther’s Sunday school class and other nephews.

His family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road and the memorial register is also available at ''Funerals Scheduled'' at grocefuneralhome.com.
