Asheville Butterfly TrailHarold Abbiati Moss, 85, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022.
A Buncombe Co. native, Harold was a son of the late Reginald and Frances Abbiati Moss. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Mildred Vaillancourt, R.G. Moss, Jr., Dot Curry, and Allen Moss.
Mr. Moss proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He later worked for many years in tool sales. He attended Emma United Methodist Church. His passions in life were fishing and working outdoors in the yard and garden.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Howell Moss; daughter, Patricia Moss-Shackelton, and son-in-law, Steve Shackelton.
His family will receive friends at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday followed by the funeral service. Those in attendance will be given the opportunity to share a thought or memory of Mr. Moss during the service. Masks will be mandatory. Interment with military honors will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emma United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 6921, Asheville, NC 28816.
