Geraldine L. Lawrence

Asheville – Geraldine "Jeri" Lorenz Lawrence, 90, of the Givens Estates, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. A native of Plevna, Indiana, she was the last surviving of ten children of the late Henry and Mary Catherine Graf Lorenz and was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Lawrence, who died in 1996. Jeri was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Circle at Central, the Woman's Civic Club of Asheville and the P.E.O. Chapter AC. Jeri is survived by two daughters, Debbie Lawrence of Chicago and Marcia Lawrence and her husband, Hal, of Asheville and Washington, DC. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Megan Isaac and her husband, Mike, of Seattle, Washington and Amy Miller and her husband, Matt, of Chicago. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 12 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Reverend Rob Blackburn. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 27 Church Street, Asheville, NC 28801.
