Asheville Butterfly TrailA native of Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late John Robert and Carrie Love Whisnant and the wife of the late Ralph Lewis Ball who died in 1958. Mrs. Ball retired from the old Aston Park Hospital as a registered nurse and was a member of the West Asheville Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Neely and Gail Thompson, both of Fletcher; one son, Larry Ball of Asheville; one sister, Lois Rink of Newton; one brother, Fred Whisnant of Newton; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2:00 PM in the Lake Julian chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Mark Anders and David Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
