Everett Leslie Flanagan

Mr. Flanagan was born in Lee County, Alabama, into a large family of eleven brothers and sisters. He served as a cryptographer in the US Army Air Corps during WW II.
After a dedicated 40-year career with Nabisco, Inc., he retired in 1976 as Asheville Branch Manager.
He was a member of the York Rite Body, a Shriner, a member of the Oasis Temple, a member of the Biltmore Masonic Lodge #446, A.F. & A.M., and a lifetime member of the Land of the Sky Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine M. Flanagan; three daughters, Bobbie Whitener of Asheville, Joan Murphy of Jacksonville, FL, and Anne Maier of Charlotte; one son, Bill Murphy of Asheville; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother, F. Grimes Flanagan and a sister, Lucille Hudson, both of Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with the Rev. Dr. Perry S. Miller officiating. Masonic Rites will be provided by the Biltmore Lodge #446. The lodge will open at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28802.
