Edith Marie Surrett Moore, 92, of Asheville, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Dock A. Surrett and Allie Stines Surrett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Junior Lee Moore. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. She was retired from Ethan Allen.

She is survived by her son, Bruce Moore, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Green Hills Cemetery, with Rev. David Moore and the Rev. Larry Sprouse officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to a charity of your choice.

  4. Bruce, so sorry for the loss of your Mother. My Aunt Mary Lou and Uncle Clenon thought so much of your parents and you. I know she will be missed so much. It’s not an easy thing when we lose our parents. Doug and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
