Ed H. Birchfield, 89, of Arden, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mr. Birchfield was a native of Henderson County, and was a son of the late Lizzie Wilson Silver and step-son of the late Lorenzo Silver. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janie Ruth Birchfield who passed away in 2000 and several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Birchfield was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII.
He is survived by his two children; Lynn Wisham and her husband, Kevin, of Fletcher and John Edward "Eddie" Birchfield of the home in Arden; a sister, Helen Kanupp of Skyland and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 15, 2013 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden. Burial will follow at Emma's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
