Dr. Robert L. Prouty

Dr. Robert L. Prouty, age 89, died in Mission Hospital on January 3, 2016.
He was born on July 31, 1926 in Goodland, Kansas, son of the late Herbert J. and Margaret A. Prouty. He graduated from Baldwin Wallace College (B.S. 1946) and the Ohio State University College of Medicine (M.D. 1949) and had 5 years of post-graduate training at the University Hospitals of Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Prouty served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He practiced Internal Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, Anchorage, Alaska, and Norfolk, Connecticut. Upon retirement, Dr. Prouty and his wife Phyllis lived for several interesting years near Viseu, Portugal before moving to Asheville, NC. He was a student of nature, especially birds, enjoyed classical music and, most of all, people. He was a faithful member of Acton United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Prouty, first wife Elizabeth H. Prouty and second wife Phyllis J Prouty. He is survived by daughters Elisabeth Scheele, Barbara Russell and Martha Israeli, their husbands and families, all of the Cleveland area.
Memorial services will be held on February 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Acton United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Acton United Methodist Church.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Prouty. Please accept my condolences. We can look forward to the promises found at Isaiah 26:19 and Revelation 21:3,4. Soon, all things causing pain including death will be eliminated. May you find the strength to endure in the days ahead.
