Dottie Ashton Stelzer

Dorothy “Dottie” Ashton Stelzer, 81, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

A native of Buncombe Co., Dottie was a daughter of the late Ed and Laura Wallace Ashton. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, and her husband, Don.

Dottie worked at Jersey Mike’s, and had previously worked at Ingles, the Biltmore Estate, and at Square D. She loved her family, her home, and ‘piddling around’ with her flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Rhodes (Steve); six stepchildren, Dan Stelzer, Mike Stelzer, Karen Patton, Steve Stelzer, Patrick Stelzer and Terri Kellenberger; grandchildren, Michelle Stelzer-Armour and Paul Stelzer; five great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family members.

Visitation will be held at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6. The graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
