Donald C. Pippin

September 17, 1942 ~ January 1, 1999

Donald Comer Pippin, 56, of 605 Averys Creek Road, Arden, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, January 1, 1999.

A native of Eufaula, Ala, he was a son of Johnnie Mae Stanford Pippin Wooten of Eufaula, and the late Comer Pippin. He had lived in Buncombe County for the past 36 years.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia Coy Pippin; three sons, Don Michael Pippin, Gregory Scott Pippin, and Mark David Pippin, all of Arden; two brothers, Bruce Lee Pippin of Arden and Ben James Pippin of Eufaula; and one granddaughter, Brittany.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday, January 4, 1999, in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with the Revs. Tim Lee and Paul Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Averys Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wallace Medlin, Allen Robinson, Rodney Haley, Bill Link, Gary Phillips, and Hershel Jones.

His family will receive friends from 7 - 9 pm Sunday at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to Hands Up Food Ministry, Words of Life Tabernacle, 815 Glen Bridge Road, Arden, NC 28704.
