Diane Elizabeth Freeland, 57, of Asheville, died Monday, August 6, 2001, in an Asheville hospital.
Ms. Freeland was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late John David and Rosetta Belle Riddle Freeland, Sr.
She is survived by one son, Daniel Matthew Freeland of Asheville; three sisters, Donna Pearson of Lexington, Cherie Frisbee of Asheville, and Lisa Wallace of Alexander; and one brother, John D. Freeland, Jr. of Weaverville.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Nelson Ponder officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

Diane was a lovely, loving,thoughtful person We shall miss her . She loved her family very much.
Diane was a very caring person. She kept me company on the telephone while my husband was at work.
I talked with Diane often on the phone. She was always a joy to talk with. I’m sure she will be missed.
Diane was such a sweet spirited person that my wife and I will miss her and her daily ‘check on you’ call.
