Born in: Brooklyn, NY
Resided in: Asheville, NC

Diane Doyle, 62, passed on to the spirit world on the winter solstice, December 21, 2025, in Asheville, North Carolina.

Diane lived a rich, full life of adventure and creativity. As an artist, she worked in many disciplines: she created large scale ceramic wall sculptures often involving the community, she was an illustrator, painter and experimented with many mediums. Her mission was to encourage others to live their dreams, especially with her “Journey of Dreams Project.” Diane learned to pilot a private plane. As an outdoor adventurer, she through-hiked major long distance trails in the U.S. and traveled internationally. She was brimming with enthusiasm, love, empathy and compassion. Diane fought cancer for nearly 12 years and unselfishly became an inspiration and a resource for others going through their own cancer journeys.

Diane was born in Brooklyn, NY. Her childhood was spent on Long Island, NY, before moving to North Carolina as a young adult. After many travels she settled in Asheville, where she lived for over 25 years. She is remembered with love by her husband, Ron Roman; her mother, Concetta Doyle; her sister, Joann Schmitt; and her brother, David Doyle. She was preceded in death by her father, also named David Doyle.
