David Michael Greene, 73, of Asheville, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 23, 2026.

A native of Asheville, Michael was born on September 19, 1952 to Ruth Greene and the late Jack Greene. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ken Greene and niece, Kris Cronon.

To one and all, he shared how he loved the Lord with all of his heart. He proudly served in the US Army and loved our great country.

Michael is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie Greene; his mother, Ruth Greene and several nieces and great nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 27 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler. Groce Funeral Home’s Lake Julian team is assisting the family.

He looked up to you and admired you more than you knew and I knew if he had that much love and respect for you than I could and should and did as well. A good man is gone from this world but your memories will always hold a special place in my heart. Thanks for everything and I love and miss you dearly.
