David Junior Curry

David Junior Curry, 87, of Asheville, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at The Laurels of Green Tree Ridge. A native of Buncombe Co., David was a son of the late Sebe and Barbara Owensby Curry. He was also preceded in death by his first and second wife, Mary Lou Parton Curry and Laura Mae Shoemaker, sons, Tommy and Keith Curry, and by several brothers and sisters. Mr. Curry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served in the Merchant Marines for over 40 years. Mr. Curry is survived by his son, Michael Curry and wife Barbara; 6 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service for Mr. Curry will be held on Monday, February 5, at 2:00 p.m. in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Pastor Ronald Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
