Cumi Edmonds Barnes

Cumi Edmonds Barnes, 73, of Asheville, died Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Flesher’s Fairview.

A native of Madison Co., she was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Polly Price Edmonds. She was also preceded in death by sisters Bonnie Rogers, Agnes Clark, Jean Dockery, and Oey Roberts, and by brothers Lee, John, Grover, Calvin, D.J., Burlin, and Brant Edmonds.

Mrs. Barnes is survived by her husband, Willard Ray Barnes; daughter, Joyce Cole and husband David; son, Bobby Barnes and wife Linda; grandchildren, Tonya Barnes, Jeremy Barnes, and Ryan Cole; and sister, Ada Sams.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Perry Burke officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
