Corina Renee Dockins, 54, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Mission Hospital.

Ms. Dockins was born in Asheville, NC to Linda Baker Dockins and the late Walter M. Dockins, Sr. In addition to her father, Corina was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Edith Dockins and Leon and Dimple Baker and an Aunt Gail Dockins.

Corina was a hard worker and always gave her all to any project she started. She was an avid ginseng hunter. She worked at the Post Office, Coca Cola Bottling and Amazon. She loved her family with all her heart and her beloved dog, Charlie Brown. She was a daddy’s girl, loved the outdoors and liked to take long hikes in the woods in Pinners Cove where she spent most of her life.

Her sweet, fierce spirit will be missed-She told everyone she knew about her Lord Jesus Christ. She faced a lot of challenges but she trusted the Lord until the end.

She is survived by her husband, Christian “Tony” Hensley; her mother, Linda Baker Dockins; two sons, Cody Wayne Dockins and Charles “Curry” Dockins; three stepdaughters, Casey Hensley, Chloe Hensley and Christin Hensley; two stepsons, Matt Acheson and Zachary Acheson; a grandson, Stedson Dockins and two brothers, Walter M. Dockins, Jr. and Travis P. Dockins.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 4:00 pm at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastors Keith Dockins and Mike Goforth officiating. The service will be streamed live via the link just below the obituary, starting at 3:55 PM. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow the next day on Wednesday at 10:00 am at New Salem Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Zack Conard, Anthony Morrow, Maxx Conard, Curry Dockins, Jerry Whitaker and Christian Dockins, standing in for Cody Wayne Dockins.

  1. She was such a beautiful soul. She was always kind and just the sweetest. No matter how long it had been since we had seen each other, she always had a big hug, a big beautiful smile, and an I love you. She will be missed dearly by many. Keeping her family in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. So sad to hear of Corina’s passing. We were close in high school and lost touch after. We were only two weeks difference in age and can’t believe she is gone. Always remember her laughter and sense of humor. Rest in peace my old friend. My thoughts and prayers to her family.
