Christine Laura Sue Morris Parris, 90, of Asheville and St. James City, FL passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Numa Grant Morris and Winnie Fox Morris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Kenneth Parris, and a great-grandson, Trent. Mrs. Parris worked at Gerber Baby Foods in Arden for many years. Surviving are her son, Kenneth Parris (Janice); three daughters, Jenny Barbee (Dewey), Shirley Greene (Jim), and Lou Ellen McLean (Ralph); grandchildren, Amanda Gabbett (Drew), David McLean (Keiko), Matthew Parris (Jenni), and Amber Rose; and great-grandchildren Hiroji, Rikuji, and Hannah. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Bent Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pole Creek Baptist Church. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  3. Jenny, Dewey, Lou and Ralph there couldn’t have been a sweeter lady that we have had the pleasure to know for many years. Chris and Earl delighted us with their stories and bantering each other with love and smiles. Such wonderful characters they were. They both will be missed but She is now with her beloved.
