Christie Williams Sorrells

Christie Williams Sorrells, 73, of Summer Breeze Drive East, Jacksonville, FL, died on Thursday, May 9, 2024, peacefully in her home after a hard fight against lung cancer.

A native of Williston, FL, she was the daughter of Algie Joy Neal Williams and Charles Pinkney Williams. Christie retired from the VA Medical Center and enjoyed being home watching birds and her Tampa Bay Rays. She was well loved by her family who fondly remember the many delicious meals she cooked as well as her contagious laugh when playing canasta.

Christie is survived by her children Kimberly Anne Wells, Kenneth Ray Wells and his wife Tracy Wells, and adopted daughter Rhea Ann Sorrells; as well as her step-daughter, Kimberly Dawn Bryson and husband Timothy Bryson; sisters, Melanie Williams and Kimberly Jo Loehr, who will miss the many phone calls and jokes; as well as 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Christie was buried at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory beside her late husband Gary Alan Sorrells on Tuesday, March 14 after a small graveside service. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Lung Association.
