Charles Edward Davis, Jr.,
57, of 90 Wood Avenue, Asheville,
died Saturday, August 16, 2003.
Mr. Davis was born in
Buncombe County and was a son of
Christine Williams Davis and the late
Charles E. Davis, Sr. He was a
self-employed painter and
paper-hanger and enjoyed the
outdoors as a hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his mother he
is survived by his wife, Judith D.
Davis; a daughter, Cheryl King of
Jonesborough, TN; a son, Dwayne
Davis of Fletcher; a sister, Carol
Calloway of Asheville; two brothers,
Chris Davis of Asheville and Randy
Davis of Swannanoa; and two
grandchildren, Jesse and Justin King.
Funeral services will be at
11:00 am Wednesday in the Patton
Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral
Home with the Rev. Steve Brockwell
officiating. Burial will be at Ashelawn
Gardens of Memory.
His family will receive
friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at
the funeral home.
