Charles “Chuck” Harold Watkins, II, 63, of Candler, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the CarePartners Solace Center, surrounded by his loving wife, children and family.
A native of Buncombe Co., Chuck was the son of Lottie Hill Watkins and of the late Charles Harold Watkins.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Waynett Randolph Watkins; son, Charles “Chad” Harold Watkins, III; daughter, Katherine “Katie” Tyson (Aaron); grandson, Judah Tyson; sisters, Freda Mathews (Larry), Brinda Caldwell and Sheila Moore (Gary); and many nieces and nephews.
Chuck was a skilled wood-working craftsman, whose work was showcased in many of the finest homes across Western North Carolina. He lived his life to honor his precious Heavenly Father in everything he did.
Chuck’s unwavering love for his family guided his footsteps and filled his life with joy. His wife Becky was his lighthouse on the shore and his best friend. He delighted in his children, the apples of his eye. They enriched his every day and brought him immeasurable pride. His grandson Judah crowned him as “Bop Bop” and was his best buddy. His love for his family was so deep and wide, that it will carry them until they see him again.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Bishop Steve Morrison and Rev. Chuck Waldrup officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday.
