Susan, Ann, Gail and Family: Please accept our deepest sympathy and thoughts at this sad time. We dearly loved your Mom and my sister, Mary (Abercrombie), particularly enjoyed her company and numerous walks at Summer Breeze. She was a lovely, smart, lady and will be missed. God bless.
My deepest sympathy in the lost of your mom and my friend, Catherine. She sat in front of me many Sundays at Wilmington Island United Methodist Church and I’ve missed her dearly since she moved to NC. Her cheery smile and warm personality always made me feel good. I’m so happy to know that she suffers no longer and is with our loving heavenly Father.
catherine was a friend and church circle member with ann at wilmington island united methodist. Our sympathies are with her family. bo and ann adcox
When I lived in Savannah I tried to get a Meals on Wheels route going on Wilmington Island and Dr. and Mrs. Hewitt were suggested as possible recipients of meals. When I went to visit them and explain the program they said they would be glad to help but weren’t sure about doing all of that driving. When I explained I wanted them to receive meals and not deliver them the Hewitts were surprised and said this service should be for people who needed help. This attitude of service and sacrifice is one that I saw Mrs. Hewitt exhibit many times over. They were both lovely people and I feel privilaged to have known them.
To Catherine’s daughters and family,
I was so sadden to hear of the loss of your Mother. I knew her after she moved to Summer Breeze. She was a dear friend of my friend, Menza Rowling. Catherine was always so encouraging, uplifting and such an example of a joyous servant life. You are so blessed to have had her for so many wonderful years. I remember the evening I took your Mother, my friend and another one of their friends to Love’s Seafood to eat catfish. They had such a great time and talked about the good food and fun we had.
May God’s richest blessings be yours as you reflect and model your lives in His likeness, much like your Mother’s life. God Bless.
To Catherine’s family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Catherine added much warmth and humor to our weekly bridge game on Thursdays. We still miss her.
In sympathy,
