Catherine Joann Field

Catherine Joann Field, 58, of Asheville, NC passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at the CarePartners Solace Center.

Born June 28, 1965 in Buncombe County, Catherine was a daughter of the late William A. Field and Laura W. Field and also was preceded in death by her sister, Linda F. Mauldin.

She is survived by brothers Les Field (Elizabeth) of Brevard, NC and David Field of Vale, NC.

Catherine attended A.C. Reynolds High and graduated at age 16 in 1982. She furthered her education at UNC-A, focusing on French. An avid reader and accomplished pianist, she continued in her passion for the languages, literature, and music, furthering studies in Russian and German and travelling several times to Europe.

She occupied her working life as a medical transcriptionist in the Memorial Mission Healthcare system, and spent the last decade of her life at a small farm in Burnsville, NC.

She was involved with many friends and acquaintances of the Glad Tidings Family Church, formerly Zion Ministries.

Graveside services at 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2024 at Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
