Carroll Benjamin Barnwell

Carroll B. Barnwell, 76, of Arden, was called home on Friday, January 5, 2024.

Born in Henderson County, he was the husband of Sandra “Sandy” (Branch) Barnwell of Arden, and the son of the late Zeb and Bertha Barnwell. He was also preceded in death by a brother, John, and two nephews, Rick and Benny.

Carroll was employed for 20 years at Strawberry Hill, and for over 20 years by the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

He was a lover of trains.

In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by three sisters: Maude, Opal (Robert), and Joyce (Charlie); a step son, William “Landon” (Tammy); two step-granddaughters, Morgan (Antonio) and Kayli; three step-grandsons: Henry, Isaiah, and Nathaniel; and a number of nephews and their families.

It was Mr. Barnwell’s wish that no services be held.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time.
