Carolyn Adele Cranmer, 69, of Canton, died Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Med West Hospital. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late John and Grace Holoman Swann. Mrs. Cranmer is survived by daughters Annette Cranmer and Kimberly Witherow, both of Asheville; sons Eric Cranmer of Canton, and David Cranmer of Orlando, FL; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Ethel Sherlin of Charlotte, Rose Clevenger of NJ, and Mary Hagan of Weaverville; and brothers Richard and David Swann, both of Weaverville. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Welborn officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

  1. Carolyn was a great person. i remember Long Johns and Krispy Kreme. Eddie used to say’Give her a set of keys to long johns and she would run the place’. I am sure she will be missed.

  5. I’m so sorry to hear of Carolyns’s passing. She had a ready laugh, a cute smile, and a great zest for life. She and I worked together at Krispy Kreme for years. She was such a sweetheart of a person. Heaven has gained a good one for sure.
