Wilma & Family,
I never had the honor of meeting Wayne in person, but over the phone he still managed to touch my life in a very special way. He was like a big brother to me, always looking out for me, giving be advice, cheering me up, helping me anyway he could from so far away, he did not know me in person, only over the phone through repos, but he cared very much, he even sent me flowers on my birthday to put a smile on my face. He just had that way about him. I will never forget him and how special he was. He always had time for everyone who needed him, and never asked for anything in return. He is in a better place now, watching over all of us. We love you Wilma, God be with you all.

Dear Paul and family,
Please accept my sincere sympathy for the loss of Wayne. There is not much I can say which has not already been said about Wayne; it was my honor to count him as a friend and to have had the privilege of knowing him for the last 22 years. Generous, kind, fun loving and much more, he was a mountain of a man with a heart to match. We will all miss him, but I for one will always hope to live by the example Wayne set in our friendship. God bless you Wayne and all your family.
I could call Wayne anytime, day or night and he would come and pick up my poor hunk of junk car and take it to David to fix the next day. He was a saving grace when you a teenager with a junky car! He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all he knew.
Paul,Wilma,David, and allyour wonderful family. We are heart broken at the worlds loss of Wayne. He is in heaven now but will remain in everyone he has ever mets heart. Wayne was truely one of God’s top ten creations. We love you all and please know we will always be here for you. Lucy I can only hope to be half the man you were.
We wil miss Wayne very much at Bristol Dragway. He always had a smile and was always joking. He made my working the staging lane a pleasure & I will surely miss him.

The time we grew to know Wayne we loved his company, his humor and general good will to all the people he knew. He was a people-person who never met a stranger. He was one of those special people who knew how to express humanity the way it was intended. He left a legacy of great memories for a lot of folks.
Paul………….So, so sorry to hear about your loss of Wayne. Your family has always meant so much to us. When my brother(s) – and mom/dad’s son’s died – you came and spent time w/ us. Mom and dad know what the loss of a son feels like – and I know your heart is truly broken. As the days pass, and you start over w/o Wayne – try to focus on the good times and on the fact that he was a great guy…..loved by all…..
We are thinking of you, personally Paul – God Bless you as you endure this – it is truly hard for a parent to bury a child – come sit for a spell on the porch and enjoy our fellowship – don’t spend sad times alone – visit w/ us and know that we care…….

Paul, David, Wilma and Family,
Wayne was not only my cousin but my friend. I have a lot of good memories with him, from the bulldog ‘Mitchell’ he gave me to the times he let me drive the wreckers. I’ll never forget him because of his fun, kind and sharing attitude. My prayers and thoughts are with the entire family. We were blessed by God for allowing us to share our lives with Wayne. ‘Wayne, take care of all our other family members up in Heaven until we get there.’
Wayne was a wonderful man. He was always smiling and loved everybody. He was also one of the most professional businessmen that I know. He always wanted to help you out and would give you the shirt off his back or his last dollar if you needed it. You always made me like I was welcome here, like I was a home girl. I’m really going to miss you big guy.
My heart felt sympathy goes out to you on this day of sorrow. I know its been said before but, Wayne was a picture of humanity. He was loved through out the town of Asheville and, I’m sure elsewhere as well. He will be missed.

Wayne was a great man. Those are the best words that can be said of a man. Wayne I will miss you.
Well Wayne, the last time I talked to just happened to be the day you went home. How ironic is that? Out of everyone that I have known through my dad, all of his friends that I have been around all of my life, you had to be the best!! Of course, John Jordan and his cat ranked pretty high as well. I will now go through everything of Daddy’s until I find the picture of you with that darned limo up on Shining Rock and them hunting out of the skylight. Wayne, you will be sorely missed by all who knew you!! Wilma, if you get a chance to read this, now that I have always thought the absolute world of you. My prayers will be with you through this difficult time. Wayne, I’ll see you there
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the Davis Family.
Mallie, Bryan & Kim Hensley
Wayne, Best friend, brother, you was always there for me.We shared racing, fishing, hunting, good times and bad but very few bad. You were always there to help me though the the bad. I will miss you EVERY DAY.I love you bud!
Wayne will always be in our hearts and prayers he was one of a kind.I remember back in the late 70’s early 80’s when i worked for Paul, David and Wayne when i needed a job to feed my family they were their, but it was not like a job it was like going to a second family of brothers.I.ve been alot of places with Wayne,Turk and Mikey and he never meet a stranger. He was truly loved by my family. We now have an empty space in our hearts that can never be filled.the best way for me to cope with this is to beleive he is up in heaven getting everything ready for the rest of his freinds and family. I loved Wayne as a brother and all of you as family. I will be praying for this time to be as easy as possible on all.
Dear Paul, David and family, I regret that I can not be with you during your time of celebrating Wayne’s life. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have always thought of Wayne as a little brother. I will miss him, and I will smile when I think of him. Love, Deborah Crowder

Wilma and Andy,
I was so shocked to hear of the news of Wayne’s death. We were on vacation in Branson and so sorry I did not make it home in time for the services. I remeber the many times he has picked up vehicles for me for Brian & Brad and the time when he took us to the Franklin basketball game in a limosene of all things. We had a lot of fun. Just remember that you are in our thoughts and prayers and may God comfort you at this time of sorrow in your life. Just remember someday you will see him again. May God comfort and strengthen you as the days go by and I pray that each day gets easier. Remember the precious moments you had together and keep them in your heart.

I will miss your smile and gentle teasing. When you see big E tell him he better build a fire under Jr. Thanks for being my friend.
Wilma and Family,
I don’t know if you remember us, but we remember Wayne. He was one of the nicest people we have ever met. We owned a bagel shop in Asheville and Wayne came to see us everyday to get his bagel fix. We got to hear all his funny stories and grew to love him as much as all of you did. We have thought of Wayne many times, especially the time he brought wild boar sausage to our store. We cooked it up, and ate it on bagels and laughed, and laughed.
May God bless you in this time of sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We know that Wayne is watching over you and smiling.

The last time that I saw him we had not run into each other in over 10 years and were able to pick up as if the 10 years was 1 day. He was the type of person that once you met him you were friends for life.
God blessed those that met him.
My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time. Wayne will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
I don’t know where to start. Wayne was like a brother to me in high school. I remember going to his house on Saturday nights to watch wrestling with him, his dad, and my ex-husband. There are too many good memories to mention. God brought an angel home to him. God bless the family in their hour of sorrow.
MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE DAVIS FAMILY, I knew Paul and his son Wayne from working in the car business. He was always willing to help somebody, he will be missed. God Bless..
Wilma,

Wima,Andy,Pappy and Michael,
My heart was so deeply saddened the night I sat at the hospital as we received the news of Wayne’s untimely death. How wonderfully blessed you were to have lived each day with Wayne! His bubbly, vivacious spirit, his obvious love and compassioin for family and friends were always a welcomed assurance each time we met. Wayne hugged me upon my arrival and hugged me again when I would leave. He was always so positive about life and a great encourager!! We shared many wonderful times. Often we reminded each other to keep one another in our prayers (and I know he did, too). Wayne always spoke about his family with such love and appreciation. He was never shy about his love for his family. Oh, so many lives were touched by this one. Wilma, no doubt you and Wayne enjoyed a very special love and bond. He always spoke so lovingly of you. He was so proud of your accomplishments and enjoyed the opportunity to share his life w/you. My prayers and thoughts are with you all during this most difficult time.
Thank you Dear Father for your peace and comfort now upon this precious family. May Wayne’s spirit live on in the lives of those he touched.

Paul , I can,t tell you anything more than you already know as to how much Wayne will be missed by not only myself but by probably 90 percent of Asheville . He was a great friend and person in all aspects of his life . Everybody that he touched with his constant happiness will remember that for all time . He nicknamed me Squawhoo about 30 years ago and right up to Monday afternoon when I spoke with him last he still called me by that . It was a great honor to call him my friend for life . Dear Paul,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Wayne was a wonderful person that never met a stranger. He and I have been friends since 1973 and even though we did not see one another often I always knew he was there for me if ever I needed him. When my Father ‘Seapappy’ passed away Wayne was one of the first to call me and offer his help and to tell me how special my Father was to him. Wayne will never be forgotten and when we get to Heaven he will be there to welcome us. I feel blessed to have known him and I will always miss his wonderful smile and one of a kind sense of humor. Heaven is lucky to have him.
Your friend,
Sherry
Wilma,
I’m so very sorry to hear of your great loss. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.
All of us here at Fed Ex are so sad about Wayne, He was such a great person. our hearts and prayers are with you and all of your family during this time of sorrow. God Bless you all.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am still in shock about Wayne. Wayne was a good friend and had been one since we were in High School together back in the late 70’s. The last time I saw Wayne was in the Sam’s parking lot about a year ago and we talked about 20 minutes. Wayne was a good friend and I will miss him.
Wayne had a heart as big as he was. He will be greatly missed, especially by all his friends at FedEx.
Wilma, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time…the staff @ Open MRI.
Paul & David: What a wounderful soul Wayne Davis possessed. I know, with no doubt, that Wayne’s primary purpose in life was to teach people how to love and be loved. He was a true inspiration to any and all whom he came in contact and in remembrance of this great man everyone should try to achieve the same greatness. Praise God for the life of Wayne Davis. .

Paul, Wilma, David and all of Wayne’s extended family, I want to express my deepest sympathies to you at this time. For me, Wayne was a lifesaver when my son Frankie was just 2 years old (12 yrs ago). My son wandered away and Wayne found him. He did not know my son but asked him if he could show him where he lived. I will never forget how scared I was and then Wayne came walking up with my son. Although I knew lots of Wayne’s family I did not know Wayne. But from that day on he was an angel in my eyes. He continued to help with my son. When he cleaned the lot across the street he gave my son only, permission to ride his go-cart there and out of his own pocket he put a basketball goal that you fill with sand up for my son. Today will be a hard day when I must tell my son about this. I am proud that my son knew and was cared about by someone so nice. It doesn’t surprise me however, knowing some of Wayne’s aunts and cousins! They are wonderful people. I pray that God will bless and see you through this horrible time. Respectfully, Anita Middleton
I WILL MISS WAYNE GREATLY,HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND YOU COULD ALWAYS COUNT ON .ALL OUR PRAYERS WILL BE WITH YOU DURING THIS TIME OF SORROW AND GRIEF.IF YOU NEED ANYTHING PLEASE CALL ME. BIG JIM AND FAMILY
Paul and Family,
We are so sorry about Waynes passing, and if we can do anything just let us know. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Dear Reynolds and Davis Families,
Our family is so heart broken by this profound loss we share. Wayne has been such a big part of our lives since we were children and he played match maker for us nearly 30 years ago. We called each other often just to say hello. He will be sadly missed by all. We will remember the wonderful times we had together and we know that there is rejoicing in heaven that a good man has come home. We’ve laughed about silly things that Wayne did like the time he put live cat fish in my newly constructed pool and how he helped to make our children behave by telling them that he would put hot oatmeal in their shoes if they didn’t mind. We have so many wonderful and funny stories to remember. He was a best friend to us both. We will forever love and miss him. You are in our thoughts and prayers. The Clark family: Steve & Susan, Adam & Nicole, Jeff, Monica & Austin.
Wayne will be greatly missed. He was always there with a smile and shared many stories of hunting and of vehicles. He was truly on of the good guys.
Paul,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Wayne had a way of putting a smile on your face no matter what the circumstance. The world would be a better place if there were more people like Wayne Davis.
Dear Paul, family and friends,
I was so sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. I was so fortunate to see him only a month ago after probably 20 years. He was as fun and full of life as always. I used to be Eva Williams and played in the neighborhood with Wayne. I loved him dearly, he was a great friend and a wonderful person. My heartfelt sympathy to you all.
Love, Eva

Dear Paul,Wilma and Family
I am so sorry to hear about Wayne’s passing, my heart goes out to you all. The last time I saw Wayne was at Super Chevy in Bristol. As we were wondering around the swap meet here come smiling Wayne riding up on his scooter,Wayne looked like a kid in a candy store with all the cars, parts and the smell of Nos in the air.Even with all of that going on he still spoke of Wilma and how long they’ve been together. And I remeber over the years Paul and Wayne coming out to Dad’s shop to wheel-n-deal on rollbacks or just to vist. You could always tell how close they were. You could tell that Wayne loved his family ,life and friends.Wayne will truley be missed, but will be spoke of often.Paul you and Waynes Family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Paul, David, Wilma, and family: I think you all know how much Wayne meant to me, Bill and our boys Matt and BB. We can’t even begin to tell you how sorry we are. On another note, we want to make sure you know how much we loved him and how wonderful it was for us to have him as a part of our lives for so long. We Love You!

As a former telecommunicator of the Asheville Police Department, I worked with Wayne on a daily basis. It didn’t matter if I called him at 1PM or at 4AM, he always answered the phone with a smile and a laugh. The world has lost a wonderful person and we all grieve at his passing. His family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Paul, David and Wilma,
There are no words to express my sincere sympathy to you. Wayne was one of the sweetest guys I’ve ever known. Like everyone is saying, he always had a smile on his face and would make you laugh no matter what kind of day you were having. He was always willing to help someone in need and helped my daughter get a good, reliable car. There will never be another Wayne and I know he will never be forgotten. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Wayne,
Truly deep down you were my all time favorite person. By all that you knew you will be missed. It was a total shock when the news arrived, here. It has been only a couple weeks + and you are missed more than you can amagine. If you could have seen your sevice, it was wonderful and beautiful. I havent been to many funerals in my life time but that will probaly be a memorie that will last a life time. To explain what everyone feels who has lost you, is totally impossible and will always be. To me it isnt fair that you have left us so early but that is not my place to say. Thanksgiving will never ever be the same with out you. We all will miss so much you can not even begin to know. My sister and I will mostly miss Herbbie and Derbbie. She is too young to understand but I am not. The amount of times you will pass through one persons mind daily is impssible to count. Even though we may miss you alot, Wilma and your Father and your brother will miss you the most. There is nothing i would change about that day exept you were not there to cheer me up even though as i cried it felt like you were sitting right beside me saying it will be okay.
you will always be missed from thoughs you knew you.
Wilma,
you are always in my prayers when I do pray. It is hard to exept that our memories of Wayne will never continue. But we will make do with the memories we have now of him in the past and some people say thoughs are the best memories of all. Truly and deeply he will be missed by some people who only met him once, but he did more in a month than most people do in a year. See you soon Wilma we all love you and we still love Wayne. We were all privlaged to know such a great man whos heart was as big as the world.
Love,
Missy
