Bruce Lee Austin, 78, entered into his heavenly home Saturday, April 25, 2015.
Mr. Austin was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Dewie Lee and Dorothy Mae Johnson Austin. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as NASCAR racing. He retired from Biltmore Farms following 30 years service. He attended Deaverview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby A. Austin; two children, David Austin and Shauna Pope (Anthony); granddaughter, Addyson Mae "Porkchop" Pope; sister, Judy Griffin; "brother-in-love", Vernon Alexander, and several nieces and nephews along with other family members.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Odom officiating. Entombment will follow at Pisgah View Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
