Brenda Kay Woodbury, also known as “Mother Boo,” passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, at the age of 76.

She was born on July 5, 1947, in Crewe, Virginia, to the late Willard Eugene Gasperson and Juanita Thompson Gasperson. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Rodney Eugene Carson and James Bryant “Jimmie” Carson, and brother, Billy Gasperson. Brenda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.

In her career, Brenda served as the head accountant for Prestige Dodge Subaru for 25 years. After retiring, she devoted her time to caring for her beloved husband and grandchildren, who meant the world to her.

Brenda completed her education at A.C. Reynolds High School, Asheville. She was a person of strong faith and worshipped at a Methodist church.

Outside of work and family, Brenda had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She was passionate about gourmet cooking, gardening, knitting, and most of all, caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.

Brenda Woodbury will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Julian Woodbury; sons, Christian Taliaferro Woodbury and Kenneth Alan Gatins; her brothers, Randall Gasperson and wife Janice, of Leicester, and Roger Gasperson, of Orlando; as well as her four grandchildren, and the entire extended family. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A private family memorial service for Mrs. Woodbury will be held at Green Hills Cemetery in late Spring of 2024.
