Bonnie Couch Barnwell

Bonnie Couch Barnwell, 96, of 1128 Charlotte Highway, Fairview, died Saturday, November 9, 2002, at a local rest home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Dozie Hare Couch. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. Barnwell, who died in 1983. She worked for the American Enka Corporation for eight years and was a member of Emma’s Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Barnwell is survived by a sister, Mrs. Addlee Sluder of LaMesa, CA and several nieces and nephews including Harold Trantham and his wife Margaret of Fairview. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Emma’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend G. Scott Lynch officiating.
