Blanche Jenkins Janeiro, 89, of Hendersonville, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A native of Swain County, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Clara Ammons Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Janeiro, who died in 1996. Blanche was a faithful member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church, where she was active in the Keenagers Bible Study Group. She is survived by two sons, Rick Janeiro and his wife, Kathy, of Annandale, VA and Jimmy Janeiro and his wife, Melinda, of Hendersonville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 13 at Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, March 12 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Flowers are appreciated, but for those who choose, memorial donations may be made in Blanche's name to Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church, 283 Merrimon Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.
