Bertie Mae Young, 87, of Liberty Rd., died Monday, October 15, 2012, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Lowery and Minnie Haynes Young. She was also preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Ms. Young worked at Square D. and at American Enka. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother, Wayne Young of Anniston, AL; and by 9 nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Derrick McCarson officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 875 Monte Vista Rd., Candler, NC 28715.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
