Benjamin William Wald, 76, of 2 N. June Lane, Hendersonville, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at his home.
A native of New Hyde Park, NY, Mr. Wald was a son of the late Benjamin Griffen and Nellie Helen Boza Wald.
He was a Navy veteran and a graduate of Hofstra University. He and his wife, Carol, had lived in North Carolina since 2004.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Joyce Kelly.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at Calvary Episcopal Church.

Ben’s last day was a good one, and he fell asleep and walked into the beautiful land we all dream about. I’m sorry I didn’t know him, but you will carry his memory with you forever, and part of him will live there happy and safe. You have been a wonderful caregiver and now you can rest, knowing that Ben is happy in the arms of his Savior. I love you my dear friend.

We are saddened to learn of the death of Ben. He was such a kind, sweet man. John really enjoyed their friendship. We will miss him.
