BARBARA R. SHOOK LEICESTER � Barbara Redmon Shook, 69, of 8 Chapel Hill Lane, died Friday, September 3, 2010. A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Shook was a daughter of the late Edgbert and Elsie Austin Redmon. She was married to Wilburn Shook, who died in 2005. She is survived by a daughter, Freda Shook (Terry Pearcy) of Leicester; four sons, Edgbert Shook (Doris Buckner) of Leicester, Robert Shook (Lorna) of Jacksonville, FL, W. Carter Shook (Renee) of North Augusta, SC, and Richard Shook (Michelle) of Leicester; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a brother, Edgbert Redmon (Hattie) of Enka. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Fox officiating. Burial will be at Western Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family expresses special appreciation to Four Seasons Hospice and to Grace Health Care Center for their love and care.

  7. To all of the family; I was sorry to hear about Barbara’s passing. I can remember the early times before she and Wilburn married. I remember about the time we visited in Virginia and Bea and I were taken to an amusement park by Barbara and Wilburn and riding through the Tunnel of Love with them. Remember the good times.
