Anna S. Jefferson, 75, wife of Eddie R. Jefferson passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, October 9, 2016.
Anna was born June 25, 1941 in Buncombe County to the late Mark B Smith and Virginia Smith. She was also preceded in death by her son, Johnny Briggs and daughter, Pamela Ann Briggs.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie R. Jefferson; sons, Keith Watkins, Dean Briggs and Jerry Briggs; brothers, Charles E. Smith and Paul W. Smith of Mills River; sisters, Brenda McAfee of Rutherfordton and Nancy S. Kent of Candler and a special great nephew, Kenny Walker; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Anna was lovingly referred to as "Nanny" by her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Ronnie Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice Care, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
