Hettie Lane Clark, 100, of 12 Powell Street, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at the Western Carolina Baptist Retirement Home.
Mrs. Clark was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late William Henry and Lou Worley Lane. She was married to Lawrence B. Clark, Sr., who died in 2000, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Henson.
Mrs. Clark was a former employee of Minico Cleaners. She was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church, where she attended Sundays, while attending State Street Baptist Church on Wednesday evenings.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Smith Ballard and Jean C. Moore; a son, Lawrence B. Clark, Jr., and his wife, Joyce; nine grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Lee Davis and Terry Sprouse officiating.
Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Grandma, I will miss you dearly, you were a very wonderful lady. You were also so sweet to me. Trudy and family I know that you all will miss her dearly and I appreciate you all letting me love her like she was my Grandma. May God bless you all and give you the strength to get through this pain.
