Lillian Shook Laster, 84,
formerly of 171 Olivette road,
Asheville, died Monday, July 15,
2002, at the Brooks-Howell Home.
Mrs. Laster was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late R. Walter and Mae Brown Shook. She was married to George W. Laster who died in 1982. Together they operated the Buncombe County Home for the Aged for more than 20 years and later they owned and operated the White Pines Rest Home. Mrs. Laster was a member of Victory Baptist Church and the Senior Sunshine Club at the church She wa a member of the Asheville chapter of the US Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association.
She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Dalton and her husband Randy of Asheville.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Pisgah

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the
arrangements.

Sheila, sorry to hear about Lillian. She and George were my favorite relatives of Doug. They were always good to us.
Shelia, while I am sorry to hear of your loss (and mine) my thoughts today kept going to the fact that Mrs. Laster will now be dancing on the streets of gold.
